Back.. Once again. Lots of Pics My car history
Hey all. Just got back into the Honda game, and felt like I should re-introduce myself. Names Cory, im 27 and I live in Canada. Been driving Honda's ever since I was 16. Gave up on the Honda life about 2 years ago,and tried a venturing out for a bit. I just bought an EM2 tonight, and felt like showing. This car is strictly going to be the ecco car. Zero mods will be done. Just maintenance & upkeep, the mod money will go to my project car. Enough talk, here's my new car, and all the cars ive had since I was 16.
My first Teg, and my 1st car. 91 DA LS. was slow as poo, but had soooo many memories with this car. From sex in the ridiculously cramped back seats, sex in the front seats, and getting busted by campus security.lol. And many more. Loved this car soo much. Actually cried when I sold it.

Almost none of the features worked. but Loved the way she looked.

Back then, I actually believed my piece of junk was worth the Club.lol

She was such a sweet looking car (IMO)

Type R sticker FTMFW!! (We all did it at one point or another)

Then when the car problems started popping up one after another, I sold her (dont forget that im 16-17 at the time, knew nothing about cars)
Then a few weeks later, under the strict orders from my father. I was not aloud to buy another 2dr. So I bought a 95 civic LX. It was plane jane, nothing special about it. was just to get me to and from school.

That car was such a bore. My mother thought it was cute, and just that alone made me hate it. Owned it for about 3 months, then my dad offered to buy it off me for my mom.
Once I sold the civic, I was car-less for a few weeks, and constantly on the hunt for another Teg. My best friend put me onto this one. A 95 DC2 RS. Wasn't much to look at, at first. But then I had seen many crazy tegs around town, so I let the hype pump me up.
Went to the dealer that weekend, and bought it on the spot.

Kept it stock through that winter season.

Then after all the snow and junk was gone, I realized that my new car was a rusty junker, that had nothing but patch jobs done to it, all over the place.

I bought some new wheels during the winter season. So even tho my car showed me what she was hiding underneath, I didnt want to feel like I wasted my money, so I put them on anyways. Enkei Evo 5 17 inch in Bronze. I also decided to shave my side moldings, and remove the rear wing.

The rust was bad, but then my best friend convinced me to do the body work myself. So I said what the hell, and got to work.

My xbox games tag.lol

It was bad!!

In the middle of the body work. I found somebody selling a pair of DC2 Recaros. So the repair stopped, and I picked them up

bought a new radio

I managed to finish all the body work, and sent the car off to my buddy who worked for a body shop to get painted.
Came back a week later

Drove my cousins Fit for the week, that my car was in the shop.

I finally had a car that I was proud of!!! I was getting compliments from strangers on the street, and in parking lots :D
Then the following winter. My mom was driving my car, and an old man in an escalade ran a stop sign, and smashed into her.

Absolutely broke my heart.. But It was my mom driving. So I thanked god that she was ok.
The next summer, I found someone selling the body parts that I needed to get my girl back on the road.

Got her repainted again, but by someone who offered to do it for a cheaper price. The overall finish wasn't as good as the job I had done the summer before. But at least it was color matched.
Then one summer night, I regretfully got behind the wheel of my car drunk leaving a house party, and on my way to another house party, and I crashed into an 18 wheeler that was parked.

That was the final bullet to put my girl down
I still had the Red teg, But she wasn't driving straight anymore, so until I could figure out what to do with her, I crossed over into what I used to call the worst automotive days of my life!!
Now entering the money pit like non ever!!
1995 BMW 325I

My teg and the 3series, in a small storm

I wasted soo much money trying to keep that thing on the road. Owned it for like 3 months, and was already down 3 grand. So said F that, and sent it to a scrap yard for $500 "nobody would buy it off me.lol"
After my complete money loss with the BMW, I had no choice but to forge on with my smashed Teg. My parents refused to help me with it, because they advised me not to buy and waste my money with the BMW. lol.
I drove the teg like that for about 6 months. Then a friend of mine, offered to buy it for the Recaros and the deck.Off she went. Even though she had been through ALOT!! She was the only car that had, had a llot of money pumped into her. numerous paints jobs, brand new wheels, Recaro's n such. Losing that car hurt almost as much as losing my 1st DA.
After my buddy bought the teg. I immediately went out and bought another DC. this time a little newer.
A 98' DC2 GSR trim, that came with a B18b engine.

Drove it with that engine for 3 months, until I got fed up with that same old B18b feeling "same engine in my red 95'" By this time, I had become fed up with wasting money on junkers, losing money to mechanics, and not knowing anything about cars.
So registered for Auto Mechanics, and tried to learn as much as I could. By mid year, in my first year of mechanics, I decided to try and swap my engine out for a B18C "GSR"
My teachers were nice enough to let me do the swap at school, after class and such.

Rad out. Coolant on the floor.lol. My teacher was pissed.lol

That weak sauce B18b finally out.
.
I lost the pics of the install. Mainly because it was mostly my teachers doing that part.lol. So I was learning at that time instead of doing :D
But shes in, and running great!!!

My first Swap!!
Then that summer I decided to try my Bronze mags with the silver. But I wasn't really feeling it. So I sold them, and got some Enkei RZ5's. But by then, summer was over, so I painted my Stockers blue.lol. for the hell of it.

I thought it looked good. Was right up there with the current trend.
Following spring, I mounted the RZ5's. Got some Tein Lowering springs, and found a used full leather interior. Once again I felt like I had a good looking teg.

and now I had some power to boot!

After a while I got bored with the 2dr kiddie club. So I sold the Teg, and picked up my next plane jane.
04' Mazda 3 GT.

Was an ok car. Felt good to have 4 doors. I was able to blend in, and surprisingly, I stopped getting tickets.. Go figure.lol.
I drove that for 8 months until I started getting bored of it. I wanted to finally have a project car/ summer weekend car. I saw a video on youtube of a 1JZ 1976 Datsun 280z. From that video, I was in love.. It took me 4 months to find a Z exactly the way I wanted it. Contacted the seller, and drove 8 hrs 1 way to Rhode Island to get the new car of my dreams!!

L28, Dual Carbs.

Fun Fun Fun car to own!! Never drove a car that draws that much attention. After about 3 months into my restoration. I realized that getting it to show room quality was going to take wayyyyyy longer then my estimated 3 years. Sourcing parts was nothing shy of impossible. I found some suppliers in Cali & texas, but shipping, taxes and duties at boarder crossing was painfully expansive. So I put her up for sale, and within days my phone was ringing like never before! Needless to say, I sold her relatively quickly..
3 weeks later I found my new summer weekend/project car. My new love. In the color that I adore!
A 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo.

New Double din

Crazy car. Gets almost as much attention as my Z did. Not as the same amount, but close.
Then last week someone traded in a 03 Civic Si EM2 to my dealership. My Mazda 3's connecting rod cap gave out. So the engine was making a lot of clatter noise. So I decided to sell it to a scrap yard, and buy the Civic.

Then before sending my Mazda to the scrap yard, I took a pic of all my cars together in my garages parking lot.

The Mazda was moments away from be hauled of to the scraper, and I just finished changing the head gasket on my MR2, and the Civic was just there.lol.
So thats my history of cars everybody. Sorry for it being hella long. I was excited to bring home the new car tonight, and It got me thinking about all my past cars and all, and how I always manage to find myself back with Honda.lol. Cant escape it.lol.
I hope you guys enjoyed my very long history of cars. If you didnt, then im sorry for wasting your time.

I enjoyed the read...
I found myself in very similar shoes to you- always coming back to honda... although most of the other cars I sampled- were simply different honda's... The honda I cant get enough of, the civicwagon, I think im on my 4th or 5th...

That was an interestingly.... heartbreaking, and heartwarming, and heartbreaking, and heartwarming, and heartbreaking and heartwarming story!
For a second I was wondering why your GSR was an LS, then I remembered you were from Canada. Good guy canadian. It sucks you went through so much loss, and then had temporary gains. So what's the plan with the MR2 and Civic?
The lesson to be learned here, don't buy junk cars. Good lord man, you lost some SERIOUS money on those things over the years it seems like.
Thanks all. Yea, Its crazy when you think about how fast time flies.. If I would have just focused on one car from the beginning, who knows what kind of progress It would have had. But hey, thats life right? You live and you learn. I wouldn't necessarily car them junk cars. The BMW was definitely a piece of scrap, and taught me to avoid Euro's at all cost. as for the rest.. Couldnt really tell you. Just points in my life that went from one extreme to the next.
As for my EM2. The plan with that is simple. STOCK!!! Im not planning on doing anything in terms of mods to it. Its going to be the point A to B car, with minimal cash being spent on it. Maintenance & upkeep is the name of the game.
Ive learned that, if you really want to get serious with any given car, and by that I mean, modifications, upgrades, performance parts etc. You definitely need to have a daily driver that isnt that car. Driving the car that you plan on wasting money on to modify isn't the brightest of idea's. There is an infinite amount of things that can happen on a daily basis, to the vehicle that you want to invest in ( I say invest, but we all know its a money pit, plane and simple) So thats why I bought the EM2, save my MR2 as much wasted miles as possible. Why drive your pride and joy to and from work every day?? seems like a waste
As for my plans for the Deuce. Im currently trying to bring it completely back to stock form. Cleaning up the interior, replacing the front bumper with a 94+ bumper (came with the factory fog lights), and yea. Once its in the state of strikingly beautiful, then I'll move onto power mods. Thinking of an ATS TD06 20G turbo kit with supporting mods.
MY future WHP goal is 325-350. Nothing too wild or crazy, just enough to have a bit of fun, and give pre 08 Mustang guys a run for there money.
