A/C doesn't work
Wassup guys i have a 1994 del sol si the ac doesnt work and theres a loud buzzing/humming sound when the car is idling but when i step on the clutch the noise stops any ideas or suggestions?
That sound is your input shaft bearing in your transmission. Honda released a TSB regarding the noise in the D-series trannies claiming that it "is a bad design". If it is horrible and metallic sounding, then it needs to be replaced, but if it not too bad, it is just normal.
(you just thread jacked us, but its cool
).
As far as your AC...warm the car up to operating temp and turn the AC on full blast. Now check to see if the Compressor clutch is engaged and spinning. If so, have the refrigerant pressure checked and you may need to have the system recharged at the very least. If the AC clutch does not engage, it may be the AC button, relay, or clutch.

My bad guys im new to this site the ac button lights up and the ac was recently charged but it doesnt blow cold. The heater works. I think it could also b the throw out bearing but not sure.
Its no problem DelSol06...I was just pointing it out, but it is not a big deal to me. Check to see if the compressor clutch is engaging.
I am 99% sure it is your input shaft bearing inside the transmission. The throw out bearing will make noise WHEN you depress the clutch pedal. The Input shaft bearing, will make noise regardless UNTIL you depress the clutch pedal.

It could, but the sound would be constant and get worse when you push the clutch pedal all the way down because the load from the pressure plate would be placed directly on the throwout bearing.
Like I said before, honda knows about this issue and made a TSB regarding it. The only way to fix it is to pull your tranny, take it apart, and replace it

Can the input shaft cause the tranny to leak? My car leaks a lil when the engine is on. But if its not turned on theres no leak im kinda lost about it. Thanks n advance
See where it is leaking from...it could be engine oil, coolant, tranny oil, power steering fluid. etc. Normally a bad seal or gasket somewhere will cause this, not a bad bearing.
The bearing itself is probably 10-20$ but its not something easy to do. You have to remove the tranny and then open it up, and remove everything inside just to get to it. I would recommend rebuilding the trans while you have it apart. A reputable rebuild kit is about $250 typically.

Yea i have a buddy that rebuilt his b18b1 tranny and his car runs like its new. So ill just replace the isb i hear theres a top and bottom. Any ideas where i can buy the isb. Autozone, o rileys, the dealers?
These guys are supposed to be good.

Or see if your local auto parts store can special order a rebuild kit, although you can piece one together from the dealer.
I don't like Autozone or Oriley's...but if it is all you got, might as well go there.
