Yay, another Junk2 build from someone who can't search. Five minutes on Google would answer this for you.

High compression valves have up sides and down sides. You intentions with the build matter, and you haven't given us them. Tell us that, and we might be able to actually help you a little.

You aren't "building" a Type R, you are ruining a Type R.

Do some homework before you buy anything.

You can start by getting an FSM for your car, as well as reading the FAQ sticky. While you're doing that, sell off that Junk2 stuff and get some real parts from a real company.

Fun is qualitative, we have no clue what is "fun" to you. Please give us some quantitative data such as numbers you would like to produce or a budget, something we can work with.

If you expect your original question to be answered, you need to answer this. "Fun" is not an answer. High revving? Low torque bands? Peaky power? Smooth power?

Or are you just throwing overpriced parts at your car, hoping for some kind of peer approval?

"Don't have a budget" as in "I can't afford ****", or as in "I have unlimited resources"? If it's the former, stop while you're ahead. If it's the latter, it's time for boost.

Once again, as for your original question about valves, you still haven't told us enough to tell you the answer.

Don't even bother. The ITR was about perfect as it was. You shouldn't bastardize a gem like that, sell it to someone who will keep it stock and use the money to buy a GSR block, B16 head and trans, a cheap rolling shell and then look into the performance parts. It's going to be far cheaper, you can start with a lighter shell and not have something that will get stolen the first time you park it outside or wreck it the first time you drive in the rain.

The parts on the ITR were all picked to work together and Honda knew what they were doing. For what it is, the ITR motor isn't cost effective to "build up". All you're going to do is waste thousands of dollars and lessen it's longevity and possibly never even finish it up, and end up parting it out, and the world will lose another ITR.

Stop hating on skunk2!! people are funny, they hear one thing about what someone said about the company and everyone swears they are a cheap company like those ebay brands! They were victim to copy cats over seas and save all that crap about them selling parts out those knock off factory's. Its b.s. They are a great company who has supported the honda scene for a long time! they even show you what to look for when buying there parts to avoid fakes on there web site. But this is my opinion and i can care less what people here think about skunk2. I only commented cause im so bored at work!

Im with others who say search before you post a thread here.

If you got no budget than dont waist your time and just put a turbo kit or supercharger kit and tune it. You will never really be satisfied after spending all that money and only get about 200whp. after all many will say from experience n.a build is the expensive way to go slow, unless its a full out race spec high comp all motor build at 250+hp and will cost you a arm and leg. Id just wait for skunk2's super charger kit to come out and play with that and call it a day. Or get a turbo kit.

flat face valves will increase your motors compression a little in which essentially helps with hp gains.Your setup is not that bad and is capable of 200whp. stick with a 2.5'' exhaust and use a 3'' cold air intake and dont forget to look into a ems to tune the motor. Id go with a hondata s100 chipped ecu.

Why is eveyone trying to help him so much? Just spoon feed the monkey what he wants. Get the low compression valves Or use your stock valves. Dont get the billet throttle body, they stick. Get the cast one. And dont waste your money on a fuel rail. It wont help you at all. And get a better header.

he wants to dump money into his car. He just wants more power. He dosnt care about the power band. It will only be used for steet fun. So let him do it.
