Default Planning a d series motor swap.. Best d series motor?

Im going to be doin an engine swap on my 95 del sol s which has a d15b7 non vtech right now. I picked d series because i wont need a new trans. I plan to add a turbo set up as i do the swap as well. What is a good d series motor for a turbo set up?

turbo the d15,,if your going to spend the time to swap another one in,why not just leave original motor in and turbo that till it goes, and get any other d series and build it for lower compression.

if your staying D series a good option is a usdm d16z6 or jdm d15b, preferably the d15b because it has a little more horses than it's usdm counterpart and less miles if you go to the right importer

Why a d series ...??? In the long run youll be running with hopes and dreams ... theyre not meant for boost ...

Tell that to the large number of forum members with reliable, well built, quick, boosted Ds in this forum.

If you really want to swap and stay D, OP, go with a D16Z6. It's better in multiple ways than all other D series motors for boost.

I agree with this statement. In my eye's there are two options..

JDM OBD1 D15b
92-95 D16z6

The D15b offers a better rod to stroke ratio and lower stroke which will be usefull if sustained higher RPMS are your goal.

The D16z6 on the other hand offers you a larger stroke which equals more torque and compounds with Force Induction. Over all what gives the D16 its great torque under boost is its Long stroke.
Unable to breath on its own because of its smaller bore and combustion chamber when you can cram the air in it you can unlock the strengths of it.

I'm actually a fan of the D15B 3stage now that you can control 3 maps using neptune. You can actually have a High MPG and power all in one package but I have yet to play with this formula.

There are many solid 250whp Boosted D-series documented through out the internet.

What really open the door for the D-series was those vitara pistons... Yummm
