17 inch wheel confusion
Hello.
I want to buy new wheels for 2003 S2000. The car is stock suspension and stock everything else. I just want 17 inch, to go a little bigger than the 16 inch factory wheels.
I am confused what offset I should be getting with 17 inch wheels.
Most of the wheels at TireRack have a warning saying... "offset of +45 is aggressive and may require fender modification".... I definitely don't want that.
What should I be looking for?
What range of offset is proper for my car?
I searched the forum and found proper offsets for 18 inch, but not for 17.
Thank you for any help Honda Tech peoples. :-)

do you not read dipshit? he says hes on stock suspension/stock height. OP if your is at stock height you could run any offset, but then again it will be 4x4 status. If you are moderately dropped like me at about an inch or so, i run 17x8+38 F 17x9+40 R which is a more common FUNCTIONAL setup. With this my rears required a small roll which is not a hard process if you have the rolling tool. Offset wise, stay above 40 for a non crazy offset.

Regardless OP, if you plan on sticking with stock suspension and alignment specs, I don't think you'd want the offset to be much less than +54 front and +60 rear.

^^^ Yep.
17x8.5 +40 here. takes about -3 degrees of camber with a moderate roll and bumper tab relocation in the rear to tuck them with 255s and little to no fender gap. Still rubs once in a while.

H22A_CD5, just on the offset difference alone you are starting 1" wider than the stock wheels for AP2 which have an offset of 65mm. I can see the need for rolling fenders etc wth a 255 tire. I am in Phoenix with my S2000 for the winter and my rear fender liner system installed and wonder if we could meet up sometime to compare notes as I am always looking for wheels that will allow me to install a BBK, as the OEM wheels will not allow me to do that. Also trying to collect info for the limitations of my rear liner system to answer questions from potential purchasers and I need to know the limitations of these variables to be able to do that.
