That's pretty much what I gathered. today, Monday I bought 2 qts at the dealer. Topped the trans off, and stuck the fresh quart in the trunk Explained to her ONLY Honda trans fluid.

Probably in one ear and out the other,(21 yrs old) but since I do the work on it, I have backup here at my house.

thanks

My pleasure.....online you can find the fluid for ~$5 to ~$6 in case lots. In a pinch carquest has it for $7.99 qt. I have enough of them with auto trans that I buy it in case qtys.

And yes, I had a boy at that age once ....got another two years from that age as well so I know what you mean.

Well, you aren't going to like what I have to say.....the 98-02 Accord Auto trans is.....well made of glass IMO. If you do city driving, every 10K to 15K. In this gen there is something in the valve body, or something like that, that will stick causing the fluid not to flow thru the trans cooler below ~1,200 rpms. There are "kits" to repair/correct this issue but that usually comes with a trans rebuild.

Not trying to scare you, just giving the facts. Madmike posted this a while back: http://www.sonnax.com/system/pdfs/35...pdf?1320330979

It has to be the best info I have found/read to date on the issues with the 6th gen Accord/Ody auto trans issues.

Some have no issues at all, others do....so it is hit or miss on them going. The earlier gens.....can't kill those. The newer ones have a few issues but nothing like the 98-02.

Yep, thats what I've been reading.P.O.S. for a transmission.

It's running okay now and was before I replaced the radiator ( split seam) and 3 +qt trans change 2 weeks ago. (knock wood) I just want to make sure it stays problem free.

The article scares the %^&* out of me and I juuuuust want to keep things nice.
