Well I have decided to take things to the next step and am buying a EMS.
I am Interested in the AEM unit. I plan to use the car for street use on the weekends and such as well as the occasional local 1/4 mile. Now what is the benefit of the V.2 when compared to the previous unit; the V.1?
I am talking about the useful features or differences. if its just usless stuff that trying to be sold such as if it can double as a toaster I'll just stick with the V.1 and save a few.

so kinda in a sum, most of the benefits are for a tuner, colors and so on.
However as a user there isnt to much to benefit from here is there?
seems like a V/1 maybe the way to go.

Not always true. It depends on what v1 boxes you are comparing & for what vehicle.
OP: The short & sweet answer to your question is - not much.
Both still use Gems software and architecture. The Infinity box is AEM's first departure from Gems.
S2 software is a little more refined for a novice tuner, some may argue it's more user friendly. Personally, I can fly with AEM Pro, I have to hunt & unbury tables in Tuner.
All the S1 and S2 Civic boxes are solid, I've used them on everything from Mustangs to turbo KA Nissans.
Can't go wrong with either one.

1040/1050/1060 You don't have to Mod for COP, and work great on a Honda. You can't really go wrong with a v2 Unit.
as for, their units for other vehicles I can't say.
