Hi i have a civic 1.4 sport 2000
car been sitting for about a month went to open it with fob nothing happened. i opened door with key and alarm went off, once it went off i tried to start car and it wudnt. (because imobilizer was "on" i take) battery went flat so i charged it and replaced battery in fob.

now the fob wont open car and disarm alarm /imobilizer, alarm sounds every time i get in car, plus it wont start

Im stuck,

You may have to take it to the dealer to get reprogramed. Not sue, but i think your car may use the older system with the red programming key.

No civic before the year 2001 in North America key with an oem immobilizer. Europe was lucky to have the option before we did. It certainly would have meant a lot less car theft

 

took it to dealer today. been told that i need a new chip and keys probably about £500 all in. i didnt get a red key when i bought the car this is why they say i need a new chip? all the wires going into a module are black, so its imposible?

would an electrical auto mecanic be able to help?
