ok there has been a ton of threads on idle problems but none that point me directly, i renectly replaced the head gasket on a 93 ex d16z6 that ran fine before (idle wise) i get everything back together and now it idles up and down between 900 and 1300ish i took the iacv off the back of the mani and sprayed carb cleaner in it with no fix. i checked timing and visually checked for vacuum leaks. what else could it be? she said that it happened to her once before but when it warmed up it went away. that being said i thought the iacv but why would it work before and not work when i put it back together?

 

and if it helps she said that at cruise about third gear it bogs out and dies sometimes

 

Unplug the idle air valve, if it still does it, its prolly a vacuum leak anywhere between tb and head, check for it. If unlugging corrects it the ecu is telling it to surge, maybe something like getting a bad signal from ect cuz coolant isnt bled right or something.

 

try taking the iacv like gizz exv said, the iacv may be bad. it could also be the fitv too if its bouncing

 

what is timed correctly when you put everything backtogether?

But its kinda hard to say whats wrong with your car nobody is acutally there to see it.
