Please HELP 93 civic coupe d16a
i have a 93 civic with a d16a vtec motor but vtec seems to not be engaging. i have had a civic with a d16z6 and i know vtec doesn't KICK but you can mostly hear it rather than feel it.
i am not getting any CEL lights. i have a p28 ecu, p08 stamped head with vtec valve train. I have gone through the basics like checking if the vtec solenoid is getting 12v oil level changing gaskets.
i did some reading on the forum here and i ran into something saying that the timing could be slightly off? and can a non vtec dizzy fit? or could that be the problem also ?
any help would be much appreciated

Its better than nothing when you can't afford something bigger....
Timing shouldn't cause problem to VTEC, it would make your engine work bad.
Not sure what it could be tho....

just hook up a light to it. if vtec isn't working you'll feel lack of power in the top end, about about 5500. stock vtec is tuned for efficiency so you shouldn't really be able to hear it
-check wires (which you have done)
-check ECU, try another vtec ECU off a friend or something
-vtec doesn't work until warmed up and with enough oil
Off the top of my head but hope this helps
