leaking fuel injector few questions
so i poped my hood today to find that on cylinder #4 there was a large amount of gas around the fuel injector looks like its coming from the fuel rail side, assuming theres an o ring in there and its gone bad. ive never had a fuel injector problem before so i need some info.
what are my options ?
are there rebuild kits for the injectors themselves?
should i buy upgraded/larger fuel injectors,in my jeep stroker i ended up putting mustang injectors in it ?
should i keep them stock and just replace?
motor is a b18b1
thanks
couldnt find any topics on rebuilding injectors just curious

You don't rebuild injectors. When I say "you", I mean you. They can be shipped to professionals to do the work, but it is NOT a DIY kind of thing. There is an o ring seal between the fuel rail and the injector feed neck - either that, or the injector seat is probably all you need to replace. Both are small, cheap, rubber parts.
There's no reason to upgrade your injectors unless you plan on boosting, or doing some major internals work. Either way, if you upgrade your injectors, you'll also need to get your car professionally tuned. Basically, it's a waste of time and money. Start off by replacing all 4 injector o rings and seats, and work from there.

Easy trick (that I learned the hard way) when pulling injectors: Always seat the injectors in the rail, THEN seat them in the intake manifold. injector seats are big, fat, chunky pieces of rubber. They're hard as hell to damage, unless you're trying. Injector o rings are tiny, thin little pieces of rubber, and one little nick is all it takes to make them worthless. It's a LOT easier to safely seat the o rings first, then shove the injectors into the seats.
Go ahead, ask me how many o rings I went through before I figured it out

Vaseline is GREAT for o ring and seal work of any kind. Even better is a bottle of polyurethane bushing lubricant. Every mechanic should have a big tube of it in their box.
