For the transmission or rear Diff?

Since its not CVT, then use ATF in the transmission if auto, MTF Manual.

Rear diff, either one will be fine

WHAT?!?! Only use Honda Fluid designed for the rear diff, if that's what you need. You are not just lubing up spider gears, there is a clutch pack there too.

Your best answer lies inside your OWNERS MANUAL

Or call your dealer see what the latest fluid is for A/T transmissions.

z-1 no longer available.... dw-1 is now the norm (full synthetic...yay Honda!) as for the rear end....dual pump. Listen to 10PSI!!! If you don't know, ask the dealer. Thats for anything, as most vehicles have a special fluid for almost anything these days.

Wrong

I am using CVTF in my rear Diff as that is what Honda recommends and sells as a replacement. Also my OEM Diff has a OEM sticker on it saying "Honda ATF" right next to the filler hole

So if you are telling me that Honda NZ is wrong and CVTF is wrong and that Honda Japan is wrong and ATF is wrong then by all means continue to spout misinformation

You want a picture of said sticker stating "Honda ATF"?

Do you want me to quote Honda NZ service center stating that either CVTF or ATF can be used?

Owners manual for my 98 US CRV states:
Honda CVT fluid. If that is not available Honda ATF may be used as a temporary replacement however continued use can cause noise, vibration, and performance problems. Have differential drained and refilled with honda CVT fluid as it is convenient.
I use Honda Dual Pump 2 fluid in mine since it is backwards compatible and the new recommended fluid. I have also heard internet rumors (somewhat reliable) that there were rear dif problems over an extended amount of time by using CVT and ATF.

If you have really bad noises from the dif grab 3 quarts and change it soon then in a week or two change it again.

I have CVTF in there now, but previous service history that came with the car says that at 30,000km, 60,000km and 90,000km it had ATF put in.

I serviced it when I got it and Honda recommended I used CVTF, no funny noises, works perfect, gets used offroad all the time. It has done 120,000kms now and has no diff issues at all.

I dont see what is amusing. DPSF is not available in my country and is not imported because it is not needed. My Japanese service manual even states (and shows a picture of) Honda ATF being used for the rear diff.
