1990 civic issue.
I have a 1990 5sd Civic hatchback 1.5L and it's having some issues starting. It turns over fine but but it takes awhile to get it started and I usually have to slightly press the accelerator when starting and when it's trying to start rev it up a little bit. Sometimes it just wouldn't start for like a week at a time and then start right up no problem.
I've changed The ignition coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, air filter And it started fine for a day and then started having issues again. Now it at least starts every time but it still starts really rough and unless i rev it up at it right after it starts it dies. I've tried running different fuel system cleaners through it, and have recently changed the fuel filter and tested the fuel pump.
I took it to a mechanic at one point and had them look at it and they couldnt find anything wrong with it and said it started fine for them every time. It doesnt seem to matter weather it is hot or cold outside or dry or wet.
It also is having trouble passing deq...
Any ideas?

im not an expert but ive had some similair issues and here are somethings that might work
the starting issue check your grouns/ starter ground a couple times my ground gave off completely its a simple clip so double check that
also clean your throttle cable, throttle body also have some start the care and as their starting it adjust the throttle cable idle setting, it may be too low or what not but clean everything
hope this helps

I swapped out the O2 sensor the other day and the check engine light stops coming on after its running. I haven't done anything with the fuel pump yet. It runs perfect after it's running it just takes forever to get it going. I can hear the engine trying to start when it turns over but when i let go of the ignition it usually chugs once or twice then dies. But if while its turning over and give it just a little gas and keep turning it over tell I hear it really start running its fine. This sometimes takes a little bit.
