Hey guys...

So I am arguing with several of my drag racing buddies about the proper build for my engine.

The goal is 700-800whp and low 10 second passes. Basically I am looking for the build that will hold that power reliably! I know it is almost always in the tune, but I am looking for great opinions here.

So what is the best sleeving services, piston/rod combo. I am not looking for value, simply a list of what would work exceptionally well!

So far on my list is

Eagle Sleeves
Laskey Racing Sleeves
Darton Sleeves


Rods:
Eagle Rods
Manley Turbo Tuff Rods
Crower Rods
Pauter Rods

Pistons:
CP
Arias

so what are some others or the best?!?!

600whp will get you low tens. If I had to choose I'd pick ERL sleeves, Carilo rods, je pistons

 

Really can't go wrong with any of the sleeves.

Manly or Pauter are stout stuff.

Wiseco and CP do what needs to be done all the time.

 

I would go with Benson or GE sleeves, Pauter or Turbo Tuff rods, and CP pistons.

Well you guys are making me feel much better about my plans now.

I am thinking the Laskey Racing build... Which is Benson sleeved with CP Pistons and Manley Turbo Tuff rods. hello 9s!

My choice golden eagle sleeve are the ****
Carrillo rods
And cp piston

 

Golden eagle sleeves holding up well in mine around 800hp, AEBS seems to be good as well. CP pistons and eagles in mine, just make sure the rods have good bolts in them.

 

we build these motors allllll the time. Miller himself. We use custom JE/s, manley turbo tuff's in a b18 sleeved with AEBS or LA sleeves.

 

Boom! There is my setup right there. I recommend it.

Can anyone post power goals with what they want or even better numbers they have achieved with said builds?

 

I will not have anyone outside of Mike Laskey build my motors, but thats just my personal preference. His customer service is easily the best I have dealt with in the 12 years I have been tinkering with these cars.

I had over 200 track hits on my old motor before it let loose (wiring issue caused this btw). I made over 500whp on pump gas and I am sure it made more than that on 30psi and c16 (honestly don't know what final numbers were)
