H22 EK-- stupid coolant hose question

Default H22 EK-- stupid coolant hose question

Which heater lines did you guys use? Did you include that little valve in the line with the H or eliminate it? what's it do? Thanks!

he's talking about the heater valve on the firewall...


I don't know what MOST people use, but it would seem to me like you could use the stock h22 piping, and just cut off the appropriate amount if it's too long?

yeah, the heater core lines for the heater.. there's a little check valve in there connected to a metal line going through t he firewall..
Also, what rubber heater lines did you guys use for your H22 swaps?

you mean as in what part# hoses? as in what kind of car hoses? I figure stock would work, I sure hope it does cause I need to know too.

i used the line that comes off the side of the head from my stock dx motor ..the line on the back came off the h22 and i cut it to fit...no problems..

Hey man,

I used the stock civic hose that went to the side of the block (the heater core input where the valve is),

And for the output which is just to the right of it, i also used the stock civic hose, but didn't quite reach the back of the h22, so i got a hose connector and connected the both of them with hose clamps and have no problems at all.

You can buy 3/8's heating hose from any parts store and just fit it right
on the heater core output and then back to the engine on the driver's side port...

As for the Civic's input on the left hand side with the Civic (In) hose you can just leave that alone and plug it right up to the h22 block..
