Hey guys, i have an intermittent issue while driving my EF. Sometimes when I shift gears, my car just dies. It doesn't sputter or slowly die, the engine just cuts out and im forced to pull over and restart my car. When I restart the car, it occasionally happens again but sometimes it runs perfectly fine.

When the engine cuts out, I get a CEL and battery light and seatbelt light but when I restart the car, there are no lights and the car runs fine.

Any help?

 

Have you looked to see if you actually triggered a CEL on your ECU?

 

it would throw a code even if the light doesnt stay on ?

 

Yes. CEL gets stored in the ECU, the CEL on your dash just lets you know that it happened.

 

I'll put a 100 dollars on a loose ground. Most likely the one on the thermostat housing.
