First of all I apologize if this has been discussed in the past. I'm a newb looking for some assistance.

Ok, I'm not necessarily a honda junkie but my wife drives 100 miles daily to work and back. I've noticed in the past year and a half that her transmission has started to act up. We bought the car 4 years ago with 48K miles and the dealer told us that they did all of the scheduled maintenance. Who knows if that's true or not. The car now has 115k.

The auto transmission seems to shudder between gears. Around 40-50mph you can really feel it. I performed a "drain and fill" on the trans last year. Not sure if it helped or not but it's getting pretty bad now. I don't know what step to take next. I really don't want to get ripped off by a trans shop saying that it needs a new trans if there is an alternate fix. On the flip side, I need to do something quick so it doesn't leave my wife stranded on the side of the road at 5:30 in the morning. Can these transmissions be rebuilt??

Have you checked for codes?

I'm a Honda Trans fluid person, not tring to start a debate, but when you did the drain and fill did you use Honda trans fluid?

 

Yes checked for codes. Has one but it's an O2 sensor. Yes, I used genuine Honda trans fluid. I read that it mattered so that's what I bought when I changed it out.

Do you think it would help at all to get a full trans flush?

 

im having the same issue, im in for answers lol my girlfriends v6 04 accord was doing this and now it gave up on us, luckily i was driving so good thing your looking for answers before it happens. has anyone tried lucas transmission fix fluid? i read alot of good things but i dont want to be lead purely on advertisement.
