Default Honda Del Sol Radio turns on and off

I have a 95 Del Sol S, Bone stock, I put in a aftermarket radio about 2 years ago and recently it has been failing to turn on with the car it sits for a while I plat with the face plat popping it on and off. But no amount of hitting it or fiddling helps. It eventually turns on and runs for about 10 minutes and then turns off and on again and continues to run for the remainder of my hour long commute.

I well know it could be a problem with the head itself but I was wondering if anybody else experienced this?

My crappy aftermarket one did this...pull the radio out and tug the wires a little... mine were being "difficult" and cut out on the smallest bumps... it also forced my side and rear lamps on...
Just keep it on and running and pull the harness a little. If it cuts out there is your problem

Sounds like a wiring issue. Pull the deck.

I know there has been a little water on my floor under the dash before, I cant tell the source but I wonder if that is dripping near the wires

Well you can sit there and wonder about it or you can pull the deck and make sure.

Can I reach the wires by simply pulling the deck forward or do I got to disassemble the console like when I put it in?

It seams to be a electrical problem, I drove over the bumpiest road ever today and the radio continued to work just fine, it then shut off for no reason on the highway.

anybody got the fuse or fuses related to radio operation?

I also noticed weird power things with the radio when turning the car on and off

generally when I turn my car on or off the radio stays on no matter the key position from ACC to START or RUN, the same when I shut it off.

I recently has been shutting off and turning back on when I turn the car on and off.

The radio is not loosing power because the preset stations are still there when it comes back. But it is fully off because it will not even eject the CD that's inside

Again any help appreciated

When you installed the deck what kind of connections did you use on the wires? Also, depending if you used a stock harness ground or grounded to the chassis I'd make sure that's tight and might take it off to clean the surface of either side if so. Also, can I ask what brand of radio?
