stock 92 vx. new plugs etc. every once in a while when i turn off the car and i attempt to turn it back on when i turn the key all the way before i start the car the fuel pump doesnt prime and the check engine light wont turn off. but if i wait a minute or two and i try again. the fuel pump will start primeing and the CEL would turn off.. it does this maybe once every other week? ignition coil?

main relay just replace mine on my 92 vx, check engine light is probably a separate issue though

Cel is not a separate issue unless after you turn on the car it remains on. The cel turns on n off when starting car cause it's almost a diagnostic thing the car does to tell you if the pump is premiering etc.

This is prolly a bad main relay my car does the same but has stopped from doing it the last month but it has its moments lol. Try getting a new relay and take it from there
