Hey Everyone,

So I just bought a 2000 honda Civic EX this is my 4 Civic I have had and never this problem. I Bought the car last week. Anyway when I go to start she wont start most of the time, I hear the clicking from the starter (I think) but it wont start. At first I thought it was a fuel pump because when I drive the car it sometimes does the jerking thing when I get up in rpm's. But when I turn the key to ON on the car I pretty sure I hear the pump working fine. The weird thing is that when it doesnt start if i jump it she starts right up. I took it into les shwab and they said that my battery was fine but my positive cable was shot, so I got it replaced. But now its doing the samething. I have no clue what it is. I think it could be a bunch of different things. And ill admit I know a little about cars but not a lot. Something I noticed is that the car alarm light is always flashing even when the car alarm isn't armed I thought that was kind of fishy. The alarm when armed wont even go off when I open the doors when the alarm is armed so I think that may have something to do with it as well. So if you guys have any suggestions for me please let me know. I dont know if this means anything either but the car idles very low. I love honda's and was so excited to get my favorite year this time I just really want to get this problem fixed.

disconnect the alarm then troubleshoot from there.

 

FUEL/AIR/SPARK. Check each system & the grounds on the engine and tranny. Also check your distributor. OEM replacement parts please.

 

Well found out faulty battery les Shwab missed it lol thanks for the help
