97 Civic LX - All Original / Front End Damage - Easy Fix
I just put this on the local Craigslist tonight and I'm already tired of dealing with the bullshit. Hoping someone serious on H-T is interested and it can go to a good home and be fixed. The car still runs and you can even drive it around my neighborhood before buying if you want. The radiator and condenser do not appear to be damage in any way (no leaks). I believe that the 02 sensor on the exhaust manifold just behind the core support was jolted and that is what the check engine light is for but I'm not certain.
Selling my 1997 Civic LX sedan that was recently in an accident. I bought this car only a few weeks ago to use as a daily driver; unfortunately I had a mishap on the way to work and damaged the front end. The car still has a clean VA title that I have in hand. I would love to repair the damage but my wife is screaming for me to get it out of the garage. The car is definitely repairable as it sits if you know what you're doing. The airbags did not deploy. The check engine light came on but I drove the car the rest of the way to work and back home the same day with no ill effects.
In terms of the body damage this can be an easy fix for someone with the tools and know-how. The upper bulkhead of the core support is the only piece bent. In addition it will need a new hood and passenger side headlight. The bumper and grille should still line up once the core support is fixed and the new hood is installed. Otherwise the car is in great mechanical condition, and the remainder of the body is in good condition as well with no major dents or dings. I've taken two side profile pictures and you can clearly see the car is straight as an arrow.
Recent maintenance items that were done include brakes, axles, and ball joints. The car has power windows and door locks. The A/C and Heat both work great.
Obviously I'm selling the car as-is. If you're not sure about how to fix the body damage then this project probably isn't for you.
$1200 OBO. PM me if your interested.
