WI Motivated to Sell 97 Civic LX w/mods, great winter car- TWO SETS OF WHEELS
So right off the bat I'll start by saying that this is my daily driver, it's never left me stranded and gets great mileage. It's not perfect, but it has one of the cleanest undercarriages of any midwest civic I've seen. I'm pricing this to sell @ $2800 obo with the given issues and that includes both sets of wheels and the spare transmission.
Contact info: Tyler @ 920 242 5128, feel free to call or text or IM
Trades welcome on subarus and turbo hondas, no projects please.
Details:
97' Civic Lx, unknown miles on chassis, different cluster w/tach
d16y7 block with y8 vtec head, about 80k on this setup, no issues whatsoever aside from the wiring needing to be cleaned up and tucked away. (see engine bay pic)
Vtec works and motor pulls strong to 7.5k rpm
-intake
-ls TB with TB spacer
-Skunk2 IM
-DC headers
-AEM fuel rail
-chipped p28
-newer fuel pressure reg, and filter/gauge setup
-exedy stage 3 clutch w/25k miles on it - this is the reason I believe I'm having issues with the ISB or throw-out bearing in the trans..read below.
Suspension:
GSR struts
ebay skunk springs (rides great for how low it is)
Blue Blox LCAs
ebay rear sway bar setup
Exterior:
CTR lip kit front and rear
front flaps
rallypig sticker "I'm a subaru owner"
91' BMW BBS OEM Wheels w/centercaps *rare-ish
New all season tires on the front and rears have at least a year yet.
COMES WITH A SET OF STEELIES WITH NEWER GENERAL ARTICMAX FOR THE FRONT AND DECENT TIRES FOR THE REAR. CAR WILL COME WITH BOTH. Subtract $300 if you don't want the BBS'.
Misc.
new plugs as of a month ago
recent oil change
recent trans fluid change with GM synchomesh (no flakes or pieces found during this change, which backs up my ISB diagnosis)
get 35-40 mpgs depending on how you drive
Issues: First EVERYTHING WORKS, A/C got a recharge this year, cruise works and everything else from the factory is there.
The car really only has one issue and that's the transmission. I've had the car 2 years and this issue was present when I bought it and hasn't gotten any worse.
I've narrowed it down to the ISB (input shaft bearing) or throw-out bearing which makes the trans noisy when the clutch pedal is not engaged and makes a noise when driving under certain loads. The noise isn't really consistent except in 3rd and is only really prevalent in 1st-3rd gear. I have to mention that this trans shifts PERFECTLY in EVERY gear at every rpm and there are no pop outs or any nonsense like that, it's just the whirling noise from the bearing the owner would have to live with on the current transmission.
I have included a low mileage "si" transmission with this car to remedy this issue when the new owner is comfortable doing so.
-Some dings and dents on driver's side mainly. Body is 99% rust free.
Asking: $2800 w/everything $2500 on steelies. I'm selling since I'm getting another Subaru, so reasonable offers please!! Otherwise it's been a great car and will treat the new owner well.

lots of looks, but no comments? make an offer. I want to move this quickly. The car I want is within reach, but I have to move this first!
Bump, ill keep it in mind. On the look for a cheap dd. Would prefer a DB8, but may consider another 6th gen sedan. I've had a couple already.
Distance is NEVER an issue for the right car and right price. I live in BFE, so i deal with that. Ive been to both coasts to pick up cars
