02 EM2 Civic Si Oil Problem
I Have a 2002 Honda Civic Si that's leaking oil and i cant seem to find the oil leak. Engine bay shows no sign of oil leaks and its also not showing leakage on the floor, Does anyone know where this Oil is Going?!?!
How much oil are you losing? Any oil in the coolant? Are the sparkplugs nasty covered in oil or carbon? Is it blowing smoke out the exhaust? Shine a light in the sparkplug holes, can you see buildup in the cylinders?
If you can't find where it's leaking and you don't have any sign of leakage, then it's not leaking oil. How many miles on it? When you start it after it's sat over night, do you see a puff of blue smoke? Sounds like it's burning oil, not leaking it. My 02 has 177k on it (d17a2) and once I did the head it stopped using oil.
its not showing any leakage in the engine bay or on for floor. it was passed due its oil change which is 5000km and i checked my oil and the dipstick was bone dry.
Jason, check the PCV to make sure it's functioning properly. You might consider just replacing it. Other things to consider are the valve guides and seals, worn rings, etc. As previously noted, inspect the condition of your spark plugs, too.
