2002 CRV EX ABS problem
Hi everyone, I am new here and was hoping someone would be able to help.
All this started when I replaced the lower ball joints. When I removed the hub assemblies I unplugged the sensors and left them in the hub. Because getting them out of the housing did not look like it was going to be easy.(broke off the bolt right off that held the senor in) The sensor was rusted in the housing solid.
I replaced the ball joints with the sensors in the housing. On the left side the rotor did not come off easy. Had to heat and hit wit hammer and used a puller.
I reassembled everything and low and behold the ABS light stayed on. So thinking the hard disassemble on the left side I figured I had hurt the left sensor. Bought a new sensor and tried to get the old one out.Sprayed penetrating oil, let set and proceeded to pull it out. IT broke off on the housing. I then drilled it out. Started with a smaller bit and worked up to larger. I am sure I have gotten all of the old sensor material out. I turned the axle looking down the hole while turning pulled out any little pieces that I saw.
I installed the new sensor, Backed it out of the garage (light was off now) test drove it down the road and light comes back on. If you back up in reverse for a short distance and then drive forward the light will go off and then come back on again.
Any Ideas.
Thanks Tom

Always pull codes on lights like that. Guessing gets expensive. Also need to know what part of the world you live in...will assist with diag believe it or not.
Chances are your air gap at the reluctor ring is incorrect.
Check codes first. go from there
