Im about to buy a 2006 Si for 12750 with 55,000 miles on it. Thing looks mint...

Only real concern I have is the transmission issue these cars have....should this make me not buy the car or will I be fine?

 

it depends. my 07 had the 3rd gear problem. It made the car undriveable. test drive it and see if it pops out of third or wont go into third. mine was under warranty and they replaced the gear for me and its been perfect since. some people have fixed the problem by switching to better mtf. It's your call though. dealer may still fix the problem even if it's out of warranty.

Transmission issues?!

I purchased mine in '10 @ 79k (45ish-k miles). I've gone through a clutch, but that was because of letting other people drive it.

I never have issues with my si (Thank God).

Good luck with the purchase. Can you negotiate lower? See if you can get it for 12k.
