Default compression numbers

D15b7 , around 300,000 mi 93 civic lx
Car has been used and abused. Snapped timing belt several years ago.
Ran around with a cracked radiator many years ago, heating up..filling up, heating up filling up.
Sometimes run the oil down until it barely shows on stick. Pressure light has never come on while running.

3 and 4 seem to be worn through the electrode in weird pattern, like tilted.

Smoke... Some light white or grey smoke when revving hard in the driveway.
No smoke otherwise.

Seems like a lot of dry black crud in tailpipe.

Loses a little coolant somewhere, there's a pinhole in the radiator and apinhole in the heater core.

Uses quite a bit of oil. Leaks...maybe oil pan gasket, maybe a little valve cover..perhaps crank seal...

Was losing power and overheating to halfway on steep mountain highway grades. Temp goes back down to 3/8 quickly

Some weird sounds.kinda putt putt out of muffler...sometimes seems like a bit of rough idle.

Changed plugs..To..NGK fine wire platinum...

Power seems better, smoother.

Valves were adjusted before I had any loss of power issues.

Did a pressure test of cylinders. Put 90 psi air in. Couldn't find anything obviously wrong no bubbles in radiator. No obvious intake or exhaust air flow, no cross cylinder air flow. Just hear the air going in the crankcase....normal...

Did a combustion gas indicator test. No indication of exhaust gases anywhere in the radiator.....tested the exhaust pipe. Which verified the dye was working...

So what's with 2 and 3. Low.
Why is 4 soooo high?. Carbon buildup or oil leakage changing compression ratio?

Is my car ok? Where is all the oil going? Plugs seemed to have solved the losing power issue. Smoke? Why is it smoking?

Any other things I should get to?. Fuel injector cleaner? Seafoam in the vacuum line into the tb?

Plugs... Antiseize or no, NGK says no. Remove when warm or cold. Reinstall when Warm or cold?

Stupid spark wires came apart had to recrimp pigtail inside the boot...blah..

Default Re: compression numbers

You should do a cylinder leak down test. Basically when you fill the cylinders with air it measures the percentage of air that leaks out. I find a lot of times when the middle two cylinders are leaking more than the outside cylinders the head can be warped slightly...also if the middle two cylinders are lower compression.

Another factor that can come into play is valve lash adjustment...be sure it is within spec.
