Need opinions on purchasing 01 GSR B20 Turbo
First I should say I joined up many many years ago (Early 2000's?) and I guess there must have been a form reset since then as it says "You last visited: 12-31-1969 at 11:00 PM" lol....
Regardless, I am in the market for a toy and I've come across a 2001 GSR Integra with a "jdm" B20 swap. ~115k on shell and ~50k on motor boosted with a 50 trim turbo running 9lbs tuned on "s100". It has factory leather interior that seems to be in decent shape and the body seems to be alright for an 11 year old vehicle. He is asking $6,000 which is right around kbb value for a stock GSR with 115k miles however I'm not sure what you guys would value it at.
I obviously stepped out of the Honda world a long time ago, but I think it seems like a decent buy. I've read that the B20 has thin walls compared to the B18 so I am a little worried about that, however 9 pounds doesn't seem like that much boost.

avoid other people's projects like the awkward fat kid nobody talks to on the playground
you never know how well it was built, what corners were cut for the sake of being cheap, how it was maintained, how it was tuned, etc.

As you said, the car books out to what it should, regardless of the turbo setup. If you're willing to take the risk, you could end up buying a well-built car for very little; however, its more likely that something is sketchy with it. Before buying it, I would check through it thoroughly, test drive it, and get him to provide a parts list. To me, the list of parts speaks volumes about his/her ability to build a proper turbo car. Get back to us with a list and we can speculate about it
you can get a clean gsr with oringal motor with a turbo now days see them on cregs all the time if u get that your going whant to do b20 vtec and thats evan more money with the same hp b20 yust have more torque thats not evan that much difference
