1994 Civic not starting / cranking
Everything was working perfectly, and then one day all of a sudden. I put the key and to start the car and it won't start. Here is what I did check to make sure it. It is working and eliminate various components:
#1 -- the battery is completely charged and working properly.
#2 -- -- everything is grounded properly.
#3 -- the clutch switch is working as it should.
#4 -- I took a tester and used it on the ignition wire to the solenoid of the starter, when the key is turned that wire is dead.
#5 -- I took a jumper wire from the battery to that same solenoid switch terminal, and it starts up perfectly.
#6 -- I replaced the main relay with another main relay -- the results the car did not start.
#7 -- I use the same tester to check the leads on the back of the ignition switch, the switch that you put the key in, when you turn the key to the start position. There is one terminal lead that does show power. -- -- however at the fuses, where it says it mission switch views, diffuses good, but it shows no power.
At this point, I do not know what else to check. I would like to be absolutely certain before I purchase anything else namely the ignition switch which costs about $250.
As I said everything was working perfectly before, in fact, I pulled the car into the driveway as it was running. Turn the ignition off, when in the gram of IT came back out and it did not start.
Anything else I can check that could possibly be?

My 94 hatch had the same problem. I never replaced the ignition switch. I just made a push button starter using a s2000 button and a relay. Probably not the info you were looking for but it worked perfectly and cost 60 bucks.h
I know how to bypass the wire but I want to fix it by repairing or replacing what is wrong with it. Specifically, I want to know how I can further test if it is the ignition switch or possibly the ECU?

THANK YOU!! Conquered the problem, it was the Neutral Safety switch on the clutch peddle, the switch overheated or shorted out, fried the wires, so I bypassed it and will wait till a new switch arrives!
