b series skunk2 pro1 with golden eagle cam gear HELP!!
so I am trying to figure out how to degree my golden eagle cam gears with the skunk2 pro 1's.
This is wat i found on skunk2's website.
We recommend you degree your camshaft for optimal results as they are not meant to be set to zero like factory camshafts. There is another option called "quick settings" in which you can set the cam gears to get close to the correct setting as if they were degreed in. We mean close because it is not spot on like degreeing the cam so we can no take responsibility for what may occur as there are too many variables to consider like a milled block, new pistons, clearance (valve to valve, piston to valve), etc. For quick settings it is important (life or death of the motor) to know which cam gears you have as the settings are different on the pro series and tuner series cam gears. For the Tuner (silver, red, or blue finish) series, Pro 1 quick settings are +1.5 intake and +2 exhaust. The quick settings for the Pro-series cam gears (titanium finish) are double meaning +3 intake and +4 exhaust. You can refer to pg 17 for these settings in our new catalog (available pdf online) and pg 21 on how to degree in a cam. We hope this helps.
now my question is, how do the golden eagle cam gears read compared to the tuner series or pro series. I do not have access to a degree wheel and need to use the quick settings.
and yes, they are the old version of these cams. and yes its for my turbo application and i just want to idle the car to check for leaks before tuning. I have tried searching for pro 1's with golden eagle and cant find much pertaining to them...
thankyou.

Degreeing required a wheel. The marks on the gesr are for tuning the cam timing not degreeing the cams
No, skunk2 released quick setting for the different cam gears so no degree wheel is required as stated above and gone over many times. However. I do not know how golden eagle gears read compared to tuner series and pro series gears.

This is the very reason why they should be properly degreed with Pro1s. The quick settings allow it to be close, but you'd have to check the markings on your GE gears and compare what degree each line represents between the GEs and Skunk Pro Series gears. 1 hash mark may mean .5* or 1*. Find out what what each hash mark for each type represents, then change it from there. But its not a guarantee of optimal performance.
Yea realize its not optimum but all I'm doing is getting it close and starting up to check for issues/leaks before towing it to tuner. Don't wanna tow it 5 hours for problems lol.
So skunk2 pro gears read 1 mark for 1 degree right? Where as tuner series are 1 mark for 2 degrees?
Thankyou btw.

OR, give Skunk2 a call and find out which each hash mark is for the series you have. that's the best thing to do.
Skunk2 Pro gears are +/- 10* in 1* increments. I am not sure about the Tuner series cam gears.
Either way there are quite a few write-ups on this subject already...

Wait, I just read your first post. Why in the HELL does it matter what a Skunk2 cam gear reads. YOU HAVE GOLDEN EAGLE CAM GEARS. A degree is the same as a degree no matter if you are standing on your feet or your head. If they adjusted them 1.5* it doesn't change just because you have different increments. WOW, just wow... the audacity of some people.
I was asking because tuner series adjust 1.5 marks not degrees as I understand it, now knowing each mark is 2 degrees not 1 degree... Pro series are 1 mark is 1 degree I guess. I relize this.. I was asking so I know which can reading to go by with my golden eagles which read in degrees by lining up both marks on gear while the rest of the marks will be offset. So I got my answer.
