Default NEED YOUR HELP with ECU questions! PIX included!

so I'm trying to figure out what the heck I bought when i got this CRX that has a b16a swap alrdy done. I was told it was an HF but now i'm doubting that

so by doing research on here and google I've figured out the ECU is a JDM p30 auto that I'm assuming has been converted to work with 5 speed. since my car is stick. and I have no CEL showing.

and I believe its OBD1 that must has been converted from the original OBD0 that the b16a was originally?? correct?

it has a wire adapter that says DPFI which my friend tells me, means that it was originally was CRX DX that was used, is this correct? and if it has a harness that says DPFI on it, does that mean its still using DPFI or do all b16 have to run with MPFI?

I also circled a wire connector with red in the pictures, that is coming out of the ecu wire harness that runs into the fire wall which I have no idea what that is for.

please see pix attached and feel free to give as much info as you can on what you can see. thank you all!

your looking at a basic OBD0 to OBDI conversion...ghetto style. Best way to find out what those color-full wires are for is to trace them into the Engine bay where they seem to be headed.

More than likely they are for OBDI distributor/Saturated injectors/vtec...stuff that your CRX did not have.

Or they could be for something entirely different. Bottom line though...if the car runs fine with no CEL and is virtually stock. Tape up some of those wires that are not heat-shrinked and tuck them away and enjoy your car. Better not to mess with something if you cant tell offhand what it is and what its for.

well the car WAS running well, a little rich from what I been told by a friend who could tell by the exhaust smell. Until my fuel pump decided to stop working. going to replace it on Friday and hopefully that fixes that issue. If not, then I'm thinking my ECU might have gone bad. thats why i wanted to know what kinda of setup I'm working with b/c thinking of going Hondata route if fuel pump isnt the issue.

If anything has gone bad...it would have been due to something in that mess of a harness. When you figure out what that is...say its the ECU. Simply getting a chipped P28 or other ECU with Hondata will not solve your problem in the long run.
If your ECU is bad and your going to replace it...I would enlist some help and get that wiring taken care of before plugging in a Unit with Hondata installed and having it fried because of some suspect wiring.

Ok I will just bite the bullet and pay a guy I know in the Fort Lauderdale area to go over the wiring and clean it up... was hoping I could learn to do it myself. but seems like unless you start from scratch its too hard to learn off of someone elses mess :/

thats basically a dpfi-mpfi, obd0-obd1 conversion

that thin black connector is for the obd1 conversion and those 2 pink connector are for the 2 other injectors as dpfi is two injectors and a b16 is 4 injectors

take a pic of the side of the ecu and a pic of the ecu board itself

should a OBD0 to OBD1 conversion have the black adaptor where you can plug a diagnostic tool into to find out CEL codes? b/c I looked all over and couldnt find the plug if mine has one.

no, ive never seen it. 2 wires(i forget which 2 wires) you can touch together on the thin black connector to get the CEL to flash the codes .

on my obd0-obd1 conversion it was a org and blu wires if i remember correctly and my obd0-obd1 conversion harness looked the same as yours(grey wires, grey connectors, a thin black connector as well)
