1st time 1/4 mile in my lude
I have a stock 92 S, 5 spd., so yeah I expect it to be slow... I am also going to blame my slow times on the fact that my local track sucks, it was so slippery I had to launch at 1500 rpms, just to not spin all the way through 3rd.. Any way how do you other Prelude S guys measure up: 16.409 @ 82.550 mph.
are u serious.. ??? OMG.. i ran a 16.1 @ 84 with my d16y8.(intake, gutted civic) i think maybe u should find a better track if at all possible.. but if not.. believe me i understand...
My local speed shop got in a JDM H22, and is selling the complete swap for $2100, seems like a steal to me, they got a really good deal because they bought 3..., So that may happen in the near future, and bring me into the low 15s.
Satan_Srv: Damn right!!!, Thanks again man.

The S is the base model isn't it? Should be pretty light - if not encumbered by 18" blings or a 300 lb boat-anchor stereo, and w/ basic bolt-ons, you should have a decent shot at low 14s - your trap speed will be the biggest indicator of potential performance.

yeah the S is the base, but the weight is very similar to all the other 4th gens. And I would never own a car with 18"s, I'm all about the 15's. I am not sure if your claim of low 14s is attainable, it would be nice though...
Your track may be slowish - JG Luder and VEETEC both ran low 14s in 93 VTEC cars STOCK (one at a track in Alabama, the other in lower Georgia) - VEETEC went on to turn a 13.7 at ~99 w/ bolt-ons and on street tires (Toyo Proxes if I remember correctly). Jeff from TOV ran a 14.6 in his 97 base at the Atlanta Dragway w/ bolt-ons (definitely a slow track) - good for ~ 14 flat at a quicker strip.

just for your info the S Prelude only had 135 hp and 142tq and weighed 2765, so the time is actually pretty decent.

o... well thanks.. i didnt know that. 135 sux... so y do i hear people always say to get prelude S cams and stuff like that if the #'s are so low on them? is there a newer version of the S or something?

hondaZvic: you are thinking of the prelude type S, which is the nicest prelude ever made...I have a prelude S, which is the shittyest prelude (some say they dont even deserve to be called preludes, since they are basically accords) ever made.
armharm: you may be confused, i have a prelude S, as in 135 HP, I ran a 16.4, its bone stock. then later in this thread we started talking about how I should get an H22 swap so that I could hope to get into the low 14s stock.

if u want to learn about h22's and type s's and stuff..go to http://www.h22a.org , it gives specs on a lot of preludes and their horsepower and things, great things to know about them, although there are no 1/4 mile times, but useful information
