toda designed their spec C's with economy in mind. with the spec C's, youre compression will drop to about 16:1 and youre MPG will increase by atleast 20 mpg.

Yes, you will lose some dynamic compression because the duration is longer. Meaning the cam profile is such that the intake valves will be open for a slightly longer period of time at the beginning of the compression stroke, lowering compression a slight amount.

And that is why you need to run higher compression to get more power out of the spec C

Why even make a post if you don't know the answer?

Spec C's lose dynamic compression like Ed said.

And like Matt, said:

Higher comp. is needed to have full potential of Higher diration cams "Spec C". Yes, your car will loose compression with these cams, that is why you run higher compression.

Dynamic compression is not very easy to calculate. You need a bunch of dimensional information regarding the camshafts and engine block / head. However I know there is a dynamic compression calculator on a web site somewhere , I will try to get my hand on it.

with spec b's, if you just run a thinner headgasket, you should probably be Ok.

He needs attention because his parents didn't give him any as a child. Obviously his post count has inflated his head somewhat.
