Default Crv gsr hard cold start/ code 17

just a few more problems im trying to work out in my crv. ill start will the hard start

i live in canada so with the temps droping now she gets pretty cold over night. when i try to start it in the freezing range (5 degrees and below). it does 1 of 2 things. eather sits there and just turns over, or with it does try to kick it makes a really wierd noise likes its kicking back and stops turning over. some times i have to hear this for ab out a min or so untill i can finally get it to fire. once it has started for the day its fine for the rest of the day. only in the mornings. to me i think it could be fuel... or maybe to low of oil pressure and ecu is stopping?? my info is 99 crv. gsr with skunk 2 intake/ obd1 p28 ecu with crome. i can hear the fuel pump coming on. sounds the same every time. main relay maybe?

and to the next problem. Code 17 speed sensor
so it still has the stock tranny and i didnt notice this code before the swap (only drove it for 500 km before the swap) only happens once in a while. i will be driving. vtec will stop working first.. speedo never stops working, then i will get the code. turn of motor and start back up and shes fine for a while longer.. sometimes it happens more then others. im going toward the sensor but before i replace just getting some input.

The kicking back problem sounds like the timing is off. Hopefully the belt isn't off a tooth or so.

Although you may not have code 6, I would test the ECT sensor and the wiring going to the connector for breaks

sounds like a plan. belt was done by a honda mechanic before the motor was put in and all summer it has been fine. only when it dropes in temp i have the problem. i will try testing the sensor at lunch. im pretty sure it has somthing to do in crome with timming that is causing my problem . but i have had no one with crome knowledge on pgmfi chime in.

so i have another update..... i put my obd 1 b18b ecu in the crv this morning still had the same problems. no check eng lights at all with this ecu so nothing is complaining. i just took off my cap and roter and the roter was loose on the shaft with no screw and would flop back and forth and the cap looks burnt. just ordered a new cap and roter hopfully that solves the problem.

Problem has been found. so i went back to my old distro. and it starts in the morning fine now. my question is what could be wrong with it as it looks brand new inside and out. only affect it when it gets cold or sits for 6+hours.

and one more question. being my old distro has code 9. what can cause this in the distro. still seams to run and pull fine. gf was driving beside me and says when i floor it the rear wheels sink into the wells lol
