Default 93' YS1 Trannsmission pilot bearing

Hey guys, I have a 93' gsr trannsmission, it is bolted to a b18b1 in an ef hatch, I was having clutch problems and pulled everything out and when I pulled the trannsmission off I watched the throw out bearing fall out in about 10 pieces, the pilot bearing is also chewed up pretty bad, I was wondering if anyone has a link to show how to replace the pilot bearing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Pilot bearing is pressed into the flywheel, flywheel needs to be unbolted from the crankshaft to press the bearing out. How is the play on the input shaft to your transmission? You shouldn't notice any, otherwise you've got problems inside the transmission that need to be addressed.

the piece that the throw out bearing moves on is chewed up by metal on metal, does that need to be replaced, or can I sand it down so there is no rough spots sticking up to prevent throwout bearing from working properly? there is no play on the input shaft

If you're talking about the cylinder surrounding the input shaft that the release bearing slides in and out on, that's part of the casting of the transmission case. If it is rough to the point where a new release bearing does not slide well on it then you can try sanding it lightly to get the release bearing to slide smoothly. Honda calls for their high temp urea grease on the sliding surfaces, you can buy it off ebay or at your local dealer.

You can also try putting heavy grade grease in center of bearing, find a bolt that just fits inside it and hit it with a hammer. The impact will transfer thru the grease and pop it out. Ive heard of this working for some people.

I have a hydraulic press, and it is the piece the throw out bearing rides on to engage and dissengage clutch, my friend gave me a 6 puc clutch and I installed it and this happend, my throwout bearing was in pieces, the clutch fork was ground down and blue from heat, and the piece the throwout bearing rides on is chewed up a little.

no pics at the moment, but where the throwout bearing slides on, theres the input shaft, and a sleeve that goes over it that the throwout bearing slides on, that is the piece that is scarred

this won't work as the pilot bearing is pressed in and out from the back side of the flywheel
