What would cause my transmission to hard shift? Doesnt happen every time but when it does it is usually with 1st and 2nd gear?


It has 160k miles on it and original fluid i believe.... Im afraid to change it due to everyone i talked with said if it hasnt been regularly changed that changing it for fresh stuff might do more harm than good..


Any suggestions? BTW the fluid level is good.


One last think one of my motor mounts needs replaced since there is pretty much nothing left of it... could this cause it?

 

search...160k trans fluid change....i started the thread.

I changed mine at 160k, over a year ago, no problems. shifts fine.

go to honda, get 9 quarts, and start doing cycles of 3.

 

bad motor mounts cause excessive engine vibrations which i have heard of other people can be confused with rough shifts normally with m/t i havnt heard about them causing problems with a/t tho it still is a possibility
