Default O2 sensor(s)

So I have a 98 civic lx sedan, and I installed a new header and down pipe today because mine had a cracked exhaust manifold, I had to extend the lower o2 sensor to reach the back o the new down pipe , now my car is pulling a cel after it was warmed up to operating temperature, can someone help me trouble shoot this problem or tell me why it is doin this?

If you eliminated the cat that would throw a cel. i dont believe extending the wires would cause an issue but i may be wrong.

Start off by pulling and posting the actual code.

Did you get a header like this?

If you did you are going to have to get a cat with an 02 bung welded into your exhaust system. You can't clear that code it will keep coming back until you get a cat put on.

if you have a lx, and you replaced your exhaust manifold with a header, it means you aren't running a cat converter.
they were one piece in the lx. to fix, you need to add a cat converter.

Yes, thanks. There's no way to trick the ecu into thinking there's a cat?

you never even said what the code was, first off whats the code and do u still have ur stock cat? oh yeah i forgot about the header/cat, iv heard people using spark plug non foulers in the o2 bung, then screw the 02 into that to keep the secondary o2 from sensing anything is wrong. There like five bucks so i guess itd b worth a try.

I have pulled the code but I know it's from the cat, if I were to go get the spark plug fouler what would I ask for? Any size or what?
