Okay, I bought a Napa brand exhaust manifold kit (shop where I am training gets a discount) and the problem is that the new replacement kit heatshield does not have the hole for the dipstick. I have not tried putting it on yet, so I am wondering what should I do?
There is a blank space where I can punch a hole out (No outline for reference though) Or Should I reuse my old worn out heat shield?

You're asking two different things.
First you say the manifold doesn't have a hole for the dipstick, then you ask about the heat shield.

The dipstick doesn't go through the manifold.
It does however pass through the heatshield, which I wouldn't bother with anyway.

 

Yes, Sorry I meant the heatshield. Are there any major downsides to no heatshield? I don't need crazy power or anything just a running DD.

 

The increased heat MIGHT cause the paint or clearcoat on the engine bonnet to blister/peel.

I'd like to take my heat shield off as well....but don't want to take the chance.

You have to drill a hole yourself. Those are a universal one size fits all d-series heat shield.

Or just use the old one.
