mpfi help!! car doesnt rev as high as it should
anyone mght know or could help i would really appreciate it im sad that my car drives like a bitch now: ( but anyways i was driving the other day in my ef n i decided to have some fun: ) so i pulled out n started to pound on the car wen i noticed that it doesnt pull evn half as hard as it should b in my ef d16y7 mpfi swap... i also noticed that it only revs to about 5000 or 5500 rpm without a rev limiter it just sits n pauses at thT rpm.....i am runnimg a p28 ecu n know it should rev to about 6800 to 7200 n hit the rev limiter.....at idle my car is maping but the maping sounds like it wantz to die way horribly than before n its longer than how its supostu...ihave no vacume leaks checked and double checked could it b a bad ecu? or distributor? or 02 ? iknow that my ecu wasnt looking for my o2 so it mghy b bad....but it still ran fine just more rich...but iherd that the p28 would run rich anyways because of the maps.....pls help im lost pls no rude
Punctuation, grammar, spell check, something, please!
Somehow I read all of that, is your mechanical timing correct? Ignition timing? Your title references MPFI, did you just complete that conversion? How was it driving before you decided to "pound on the car?"

yes it did run just fine except for the maping at idle, it opened up hard, pulled hard way better than doo doo point(dpfi) but if you must know this is my whole set up
-d16y7 motor
-z6 intake manifold
-obd1injectors
-injector resistor box
-obd1 distributor
-rywire distributor jumper plugs/jumper harness/subharnes for vtev,4wire o2 sensor ect
-p28 virgin ecu
Yesterday when i was doing some trouble shooting it seems to me like an ignition problem im thinking its either my distributor. Or ecu....iknow that for some reason my ecu wasnt looking for an 02 sensor so it was running rich, but i thouht that the maps on the ecu would cause the swap to run rich anyways, so i checked the distributor. Took it apart and took a look at the coil, i noticed it did smell kind of funky,, i checked if i still had warranty for the distributor from napa and it ended almost a year ago, today i think im gonna take it apart and change parts from other distributors i have laying around, hence all the parts for this swap were brand spanking new except intake manifold, injectors and ecu
