Is there anything specific I should watch out for? it has 175000 miles for $2800 I know the typical timing belt/water pump/tensioner stuff...
Thanks!

I just bought a 98' Accord EX V6 with 177k miles. Got it for $1900. I bought it expecting to replace the transmission. I just got this car a couple days a so I haven't dug into the issues. I'll be posting the issues soon :-)
from what i have read on 6GA:
transmissions are junk and go out even faster if you try to make more power
cant justify the crappy gas mileage for the low amount of power you get
other than that you get leather seats, sunroof, 4 wheel disc brakes that are 5 lug meaning you have a wider wheel selection

i currently have one and its giving me transmission problems it has 183*** miles and i'm expecting it to give out pretty soon. other then that the car has been a great car to me and my brother.

great, thanks guys! I ended up not getting the car because the owner just bought the car to resale. So yeah...he knows nothing about cars period..

I have an '02 V6. For the most part is has it has been a reliable car. Not too much maintenance needed other the general treatments. I share the grip about the crappy gas mileage and power considering it is a small block V6; Wish it performed better in those aspects. But I haven't had the transmission problems at all thankfully: Have 135K miles on her and change the tranny fluid about every 35k miles (I did the first change around 60k). Especially after hearing many people problems with the transmission going bad.
