Tran help! What years will fit my 99 Automatic?
I am trying to find a transmission that will swap out in my 99 honda civic. It just pooped out on the side of the road last week, took it to a shop and they said the trans is gone and they want to charge me $1000 to do it! So I towed her back home and just need to know what years will fit??
I found a 96 accord transmission but not too sure that will swap out? Any help??? websites? Anything!

In the 96-00 Civic Automatics there will be two variations. You will have the EX model and the DX/LX model. You cannot interchange the two of them without an issue. The easiest way to ID them is by the VIN#, particularly the 4th,5th and 6th number/letter.
"EJ8" will be the EX model
"EJ6" will be the DX/LX model.
If you use the incorrect model you will get a trouble code PO715 for incorrect gear ratio.

Also, just to expand on what James said, the HX uses a transmission unique to itself (it's actually a CVT trans, not a true automatic)
