Default Ignition timing on d15b1

I just replaced the timing belt, water pump and belt tensioner on my 91 hatch. The car seems to be idling a little rough, I was wondering if the ignition timing could be off? I lined up everything as best as possible for the crank timing. The valves also seem to be a little louder now, what is the timing suppose to be set at? I lined up the notch on the crank gear with the arrow but the grooves on the pulley didn't really line up with the mark on the timing belt cover. Any help is appreciated.
