Default car wont move, help please

i changed my driver side cv axle the other day. ive done this repair many times with no problems at all. this time though, after i completely finished, my car would not move. it will go into gear, but when i gas it and let off the clutch nothing happens. wont even stall if i just release the clutch w/o gas. (i do have a small clutch fluid leak, but nothing major, i keep it filled.) car was working fine before i changed that axle.

i guess the best way to describe my problem is by saying that every gear is working like neutral. im going to drop the tranny but before i do i want to see if anyone has any suggestions, because im stumped so please help me out, thanks

Is your axle all the way in to the hub?

Pull the drivers side out again and reseat it.
Im sure you did this already but...
keep it in the air on jack stands and test it before you put it back down on the ground.

Were you replacing it because it was broken?

thanks, ill try that. and it was just a ripped boot, but it was ripped enough that as soon as i pulled the old axle out it came apart. if the new axle was seated wrong, and didnt move would that cause the axle on the other side to not move?

the only other thing i could think of going wrong is the throw out bearing coming loose because its only on by those two little clips. but even if it did, i dont think it would cause the car to act the way it is...

you need to pull out the new axle and compare the old with the new make sure they are the same exactly, if the car goes into gear fine then the clutch should be working perfectly fine, pull the axle out compare the two look in the transmission and make sure everything looks ok

I'm no expert but I did have a similar issue a few day ago. I changed my water pump and timing belt, got everything put back together and started her up. Ran great, then put it in hear sounded fine released the clutch and didn't move tried every gear didn't move. Sounded like it was going into gear fine but no movement, did notice speedo was going up though. Tried bleeding my clutch and it was fine no air. So I dropped the tranny and ended up replacing clutch and flywheel since I took the time to get in there. Put her all back together and she works great. Have no idea what went wrong but something wasn't working right. If your shaft looks good I would bleed the clutch see if it helps. If not you may just want to drop that tranny and replace the clutch. I don't know where you live but napa auto parts had the cheapest clutch and flywheel on hand if you need it ASAP. They beat autozone and O'reiley in SoCal
