What ecu to use with type-R engine?
What kind of ecu could I use with a type-R engine? The guy I'm buying the engine from has a chipped P06 (92-95 DX ecu), but is selling it kinda pricey. Could I just use a P28 ecu (OBD1 and my car is currently OBD1, so that would be fine) and put in a mugen chip or something like that in?
Anybody has some info on this? Site?
Thanks

Well , I used to run skunk ecu in my 90 hatch with my type r motor, I was running 11.4 cr with toda b's and the thing still ran rich as hell but it worked well. I ran 16 deg timming with it on 93 oct and it had any detonation. However a buddy of mine tried it on his b16 with i/h/e and he lost power on the dyno over his stock pr3 ecu in the midrange and the peak was the same. So it definaly seemed to like the modded motor better.

Well......you could convert the car to OBDII and use the ITR P73 ecu
there's a guy that did that to his std.
Mackymcg did.

I'm running a Pre-OBD PR3 ECU with my 1st gen B16a, and I'm planning on just staying Pre-OBD when I switch to my ITR motor. I'll just get the ECU chipped, and use the injectors and distributor, off my b16a.
