need new engine
That depends on what you mean by "best", another LS engine would be the easiest, [plug and play] lots of them out there relatively cheap.
Next I would guess would be another B18 one from a GS-R and even better a Type R.
Maybe a V8 or V6...

This is one of those threads that are a waste.
Brand new motor or new used one?
Search.
Best in what way? Convenience, budget, power, etc?
Who's doing the swap? Yourself or a shop?
This is a broad discussion and can go so far so many ways.

i dont want to spend a lot of money but i dont want a cheap one neither, i want somethnig with more power than i have rigth now,no looking for a super fast car, just a fast one. a shop will do the job.
if you are having a shop do the swap, you will spend about 8,000 dollars for a rsx k20 motor swap
sounds like your best bet would be a gsr engine, id recomend a b16 transmission, better gearing, little better acceleration, do bolt ons and cams an hondata, about 200whp, will be a fun car, and plenty quick, and since a shop is doing it, it wont kill your wallet like a k20 will

I completely agree with the gsr engine though. Won't be hugely expensive to do, but getting into bolt-on's, cams, and tuning, will get pricey.
If it were me not wanting to spend a lot...stock gsr motor, Aem CAI or Comptech icebox. Toda rep. header from PLM, and a cat-back of your choosing. Stock acu should be able to handle that just fine, but you would get more out of it with a programable ecu and tuning, but an ecu and tuning is also more $.
