ok so you bought a motor and transmission or just the motor? Reading your original post you only stated you bought a motor. Axles dont connect to the motor, they connect to the tranny. If you are using your original transmission then your original axles will fit perfectly as they did before. Your original transmission will bolt up perfect to the SOHC ZC...trust me, i have the same motor with a US DX transmission in my crx right now. If you bought a ZC transmission then you should have 2 equal length axles and an intermediate shaft bolted to the engine block. these axles should be the same as integra axles.

Hope that helps

no i got a motor and tranny .The new tranny is diff than my old one. The old cvs are smaller, the moron mechanic didnt use the new 1/2 shaft (that came with new mortor)he just put old axles in .(with cvs that came with motor) I had to split the 1/2 shaft (using that cv on drivers side) drivers side ok usein no 1/2 shaft but the passenger side is sloppy.I am thinkin he mixed up the cvs that slide in the tranny .I dont no because the shafts and barrings are differnt sizes. he used the shorter cv on drivers side I think I am goin to store and buyin the new passenger side axle today i hope this solves the prob but i am clueless please some one advise please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as far as I know, you must use the intermediate shaft and larger 28 mm axles not the USDM 26 mm axles.

the ZC transmission uses 2 equal length axles. Before your stock transmission used 2 unequal length axles, one long and one short. If you use the ZC trans you must use the ZC axle configuration. If you put your original trans back on you can use the off the shelf crx axles. If you use the ZC transmission you need the intermediate shaft and integra axles.

The ZC motor and trans were made for the Japanese market and sold there. The US based CRX motor and trans which you seem to have were sold here and uses a slightly different setup.

Will the integra axles actually work for him? I know the integra intermediate shaft and the JDM zc intermediate shaft are different.

From all my years I do believe that is the real difference. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I doubt that the axles have anything to do with 5th popping out of gear. More likely there is something internally wrong with the 5th gears set and/or shift fork.

Your sentence doesn't quite make sense either...

Your tranny is equivalent to a dohc zc tranny on the outside. Even tho it came with a sohc zc.

You can use your old tranny and axles to save yourself the trouble of dealing with the new tranny you have. Or use the half shaft that came with it and DA integra axles.

Most of the time they do not. Most cases the sohc zc came with a tranny identical to our Si tranny. This just happens to be one of those less common cases.

It's transmission specific...well technically differential specific.

because you used a different tranny from a different engine that required the half shaft.

why is that hard to understand?

if you used your 88 si tranny, you would not need the half shaft and your axles would have been fine.

we cant make it any more simple for you to understand. Your ZC transmission has a different differential in it than your 88 si transmission. You must use the correct axle configuration for that differential. If you dont want to use the 1/2 shaft then put your 88 si trans back on.

Man you ruined the rare transmission?

Look in the FAQ for L3 DOHC ZC transmission. It has the info you need.

Stop being lazy and search.

Since I'm in such a good mood you can read this too.

I'm willing to bet that will probably confuse you even more judging from the way this thread has gone but whatever. The info is out there, you just got to do some of the leg work on your own.
