Wagovan Dual Carb?????.... Need some advise...
I own a 1987 wagovan with the original d15b (12 valve carbureted). I have heard that there is a dual carb intake available for this engine.... If so, who makes it? And what kind of carbs? Any help appreciated.
I believe you will find this very relevant

Also, TWM made the manifolds years back, then sold the patent/design to Pierce Manifolds. They are available now from them new, but cost circa $500, yikes! Best bet is to look for a used version, either TWM or Pierce. The manifolds for the D15a1 come up for sale very rarely, so when they do, snag one up. You should be looking at about $150-250 used for the manifold, depending on the seller.
By Weber carbs. I wish I had. Get the 45's, not the 40's, as they push out more power, so why not?!
Bank on doing a full overhaul to your "new" carbs as well (circa $100 in parts per carb), unless they have been on the sellers car and they JUST took them off (haven't been sitting on their shelf for 3 months, with old/un-used fuel getting all gunky on the inside of the carbs).
Best of luck!

There seems to be this weird myth out there that bigger is better....but it couldn't be more wrong.
You are way off with this comment. The 45's do not "push out" more power than the 40's. They are simply designed for larger displacement motors. I run a Honda 1.8 motor with over sized valves and a cam and still only run 40's choked waay down to 32mm chokes. It simply does not like anything larger. There is no point running the larger bodies (45's) as you need to choke them waaay down to make it run right.

That myth comes from the 4bbl days on domestics. "I got an 850 Double pumper on my 302 Mustang!!!" Mine does just fine with a 600cfm.... I wouldn't gain any power from an 850, just more fuel out the exhaust.
