honing d15b2 cylinder walls
whats up HT! im sure there is a thread on this out there but ive searched and searched and searched some more but i can find nothing.
im re-ringing the ol hatch and i cannot find the correct size flex hone. websites ive looked at say 3" which is 75mm but i ordered it and it no worky. so can anyone tell me the correct size hone? im not putting in any oversized pistons, just standard bore. all help is greatly appreciated,as the wife is on my a$$ to get the hatch out of her parking spot.

it should be a bit tight, how else are you going to hone a wall if it just slips into the cylinder without any friction? 75 mm piston = 2.95 inches. you have a 3 inch flex-hone tool. it should work. if you don't trust yourself to do it, take it to a machine shop.
Come on, give the guy a bit more detail. Get the drill up to speed and insert the hone (ball type?) into the cylinder, careful not to let it pause, keep it in motion, drawing it in and not quite out a few times, 3. Remove the hone and reverse the direction of the drill, repeat the above step. This will give you the crosshatch. Do this for all 4 cylinders. And then clean the hell out of it with wd40.
Make certain your new rings are installed properly, ie: not upside down. And clock them.

wow! thanks guys this helped me out alot. i took the earlier advice and took the hone out to the car again, i think you are right, the 3" should work just fine. that video also helped me out, my father was trying to explain to me over the phone how to get the cross hatch. with that video i should have no problem. one more questioon, ive heard of guys using tranny fluid for lubricating the hone. can i do that? or should i just spend the extra cash and get the actual hone oil? thats guys yall have no idea how much help yall have been.
