Whining noise when pressing gas pedal
Ok lately I have been hearing this loud whining noise when I press my gas pedal a certain amount. It seems only when I press it half way. Any less or any more and the sound is gone. I'm thinking tranny maybe?
It's a 98 civic with GSR swap and GSR tranny.

is not the timing belt. it is the tension on the belt. if the tension to big it pulls the camshaft to much. have u recently replace timing belt or waterpump check it!!!!!

having a cold air intake or even the short ram you have will pull the air harder than the factory airbox or intake, causing a whistle sound when the air goes past the throttle plate when you press the pedal about 50% down... with the car running, listen for a whistle sound whenever you crack the throttle by hand... ust a theory but that could be what youre hearing

i have this very same sound on my car. stock d16y7 and i modded the stock intake a little and now i get that "whine" sound with my pedal halfway and usually around 2.5-3k rpms. nothing to worry about really and now i have grown to like it
