S300 datalogging questions
Been on Crome forever. So for my new build i stepped up and bought the S300 V2. Im curious as to how you guys that use S300 are activating the datalogging? Through an actual switch, or through the parameters in the software? If your using the software, what settings have you found to work best? If you used a switch, how did you wire it...my finding is most people use the A/C switch and when the switch is on so its datalogging its just grounding the A/C wire out of the ECU. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You can use a external switch (like the ac), you can use the software (by clicking datalog), or you can set it to automatically datalog under certain conditions (say arming nitrous or once you hit a certain rpm). Thing is, if you dont have ur computer hooked up when datalogging (when i say datalogging i mean saving the data not just viewing) it saves to the ecu. Once the ecu saves so many datalogs it tends to act stupid and not work correctly so i never save these logs in the ecu. I used to run nitrous and everytime i armed it, the ecu would start recording datalogs. After a while i notice that sometimes nitrous wouldnt engage properly and for some reason i just thought well maybe its full of all these datalogs and just acting stupid. So i erased all datalogs and turned off the auto datalog feature and never had that problem again. I dont know if this is a well documented problem or if it was just mine. I do believe v2 has like ten times the memory as mine but i still wouldnt suggest it without immediatlly loading it to ur computer and clearing the ecu
I have it hooked to a switch I try to use the parameters but never worked to well
I use input b6 wire from the ecu to a switch then to a ground and it worked perfect everytime.
