I just installed an intake on my 02 civic si and when i rev up to about 6k rpms and let off i hear a pop noise what can it be....my friend has the same car and a split intake with a blower he said i need some sort of waste gate but not a turbo one just someting to release the extra air intake. Any opinions would help thanx

 

your friend is an idiot. make sure you installed the thing right first of all.

 

Yea it is installed right. Is there any reason it would be doing this

 

With any intake, you're going to hear noises you've never heard before, since you've removed the factory air box, which was designed primarily to muffle these noises.

Just how loud is this popping noise?

 

Its like a backfire noise sorta loud
